The column header says ZipCode, but the data below it is from another column "TEUs".

When I run the merge with DDE, the data in the columns doesn't match the column header - it's like it scrambles some of the columns into different places. If I run the merge with OLE, it accesses the columns correctly, but the values aren't formatted correctly. The data in the Excel sheet isn't lining up with the appropriate column headers and it's pulling in the wrong information. When I now try to do the merge with the WORD doc, it's doing funky things. None of those added columns are being accessed for this mail merge in the WORD doc, but they seem to be causing problems. I use 'Address Block' before doing the final merge. When I go into my task manager I see word is stuck on selecting a table.
